T Wu: While visiting Vegas, Sergio was gracious enough to let me drop into a class and train for free. Between Sergio and several assistant instructors, I was really impressed by how much knowledge was in that room, and they were able to give attention and guidance to all of the students there. The vibe varies from instructor to instructor, ranging from tough love to a more casual and friendly approach. Really top notch instruction, and I appreciate the chance I had to come by and train!

K Kryptyk: After taking my 8-year old son to a few trials at different martial arts schools, we came to Ryoku Judo Club. He had always been a bit squeamish about direct contact and grappling so I was curious how it would turn out. On the first day, he learned how to properly fall and how to execute one trip. During the one-week trial, he learned much more: throws, grips, footwork, sparring, groundwork. By the end of the week, he was hooked and he was excited to choose this school over the others. Flash forward months later, and he has become much more skilled and more sure of himself, both in Judo and in general. He has even competed in a tournament. As parents, we are very happy with our positive experience at the club. As for older kids and adults training here, they are the top club in town, often winning the tournaments and having elite guest teachers such as Olympic judokas visit to hold workshops. Sensei Sergio and Sensei Miguel are excellent teachers, great with kids, and foster a great sense of community at Ryoku Judo.
Ashleigh Gallegos: Best place to bring your kids, they make new friends and learn how to build strength physically and mentally. My son has Autism which can make physical and social experiences more challenging. Here at Ryoku my son has grown so much, and has a group of people around him who support him and encourage him to be the best version of himself. I can’t imagine joining any other studio.

My son is 5 years old and he is been in the class for about 2 months, and I can see how confident he is feeling right now, much stronger, managed his anger and last but no less important he is learning how to defend his self . This place is not only for kids if you want to be in a better shape and learn how to defend yourself, this is the place you need to go. I give them 5 stars, but this place deserves and 5 stars and plus.Ryoku Judo Club for me, this place is not only the best judo school in Las Vegas, it is one of the best martial arts schools in Las Vegas. My son is 5 and has been going for about 2 months now and I can see how confident he is now, much stronger, he managed his anger and last but not least he is learning to stand up for himself. This place is not just for kids if you want to get in better shape and learn how to defend yourself this is the place to go. I give them 5 stars, but this place deserves and 5 stars and more.
Noptanat Subchoosang: If you truly want to learn Judo as a martial art, this is the place for you. Sensei Sergio and all of the black belts are passionate about Judo and will give you all the attention necessary to make sure you are actually learning. The club has a positive culture where everyone is there to help each other improve. This is the most legit club in the city and I highly recommend it.

Sebastian Hernandez: I've been doing jiu jitsu for 7 years and came here as a brown belt. I had tried a few other judo clubs in town to add some takedowns to my game and no one comes close. Ryoku Judo club has seasoned instructors who provide a unique and realistic approach to judo. The atmosphere is family friendly and classes allow students ranging from small children to grown adults to develop their skills. The classes are fun and all the other judoka are respectful and knowledgeable. If you are serious about learning judo in Vegas, then you need to train at Ryoku Judo Club.
Dijonne Marcelino-Klise: Myself and our three kids, ages 12, 8 and 6 came to try it out. Our two older kids cried before just from being so nervous and anxious, but by the end of our 1st session, we fell in LOVE with Judo. Sensei Sergio and the other coaches have a traditional and disciplined way of teaching, but still know how to keep it fun and enjoyable. Our kids are doing awesome in training and not only can they now defend themselves, but they learn discipline, how to respect others and build confidence.

Prime Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu: ATT Nevada is a great place to train. I have known Sensei/professor Alex Davis and his Son Professor Johan Davis for a real long time. This are all long time Martial artists. If you are looking for a great place to train and under a solid leadership you have found your home academy im Las Vegas. BJJ, Judo, Wrestling or any form of grappling, this guys are the best!! These guys understand well the BJJ culture for being Brazilians.

Debrah Banas: My children have been attending classes at ATT for about five months now. They’re conveniently located and have lots of parking. The classes are in the evenings which are also convenient for our schedules. The dojo is clean, the equipment is new and well maintained, they’ve made recent efforts to expand the facility to accommodate bigger class sizes and space. Management is friendly, treats everyone respectfully, and like family. Sensei Alex is extremely knowledgeable, passionate about the sport, treats all his students with respect and encourages them to do well. Sensei Rhenan is great with the kids, commands their attention well, and very patient. He has been a great addition to the dojo. We have unlimited access to all the classes our kids want to join in on and the dojo is open from Monday - Friday so the kids get to rest on the weekends. They also attend the kickboxing or striking classes whenever they can to switch things up a bit during the week. There are children of different ages and experience levels in the classes but the Sensei recognize this and provide added support for those with less experience like my children. The Sensei are also sensitive to creating fair matches for throwing practices and ensure that every child is practicing safe techniques. The families that attend are friendly and there’s no pressure of politics or upselling of any sort. The environment is very open and inviting, there is no favoritism, or cliques.
Karla Goplin: American Top Team has put together a welcoming facility for young kids and adults. Sensei Alex teaches discipline, history all mixed in with a love of martial arts that really connects with his students. Our daughter looks forward to her classes at ATT Nevada each week.

Christopher Mills: As prior martial arts student I was looking for a studio that provided a certain type of instruction which would allow my kids not only to grow mentally and physically but spiritually. And after meeting the instructors the first class I was home with Core Fitness and Martial Arts. Mrs Drachen along with her son Mr. Dario Drachen, Mr. Pyne, Mr. Johnson and Ms. Peaking are all unique and supportive in there instruction. The head instructors are honest and display a level of integrity unmatched by any others instructors in there field. My daughter has flourished and became and outstanding martial artist winning 4 state titles and 4 world titles inspiring myself back into training and I've enrolled my two other kids into the program. Now as for the school, the other patents are very supportive and understanding of community. They embrace and cheer each other and when you visit this school you'll see why they are aptly named the Wolfpack. I can go on and on about how great this school is, but the only way to is to see it, if you can you should visit the school and see how every student helps each other. 😊

Morse L: We started taking our son to classes at the rec center and he fell in love with it in the first session. Mr. Dahlhaus is such a great instructor. He demands respect but has fun. The kids really enjoy being in his class and my son is always excited and and can't wait for his next class.

Jacky Swallia: My kids did the Little Ninja program last summer and loved it so we wanted to do it again this summer but then, you know...'rona. I thought that was it but they started offering Zoom classes and watching my kids rekindled my spark for my karate days so I asked if I could join the adult Zoom class even though I wasn't a student before and they welcomed me. These are just some examples of their professionalism, flexibility and courtesy. When the school opened back up I knew I wanted support them and become part of the community so the three of us joined and we have loved our first weeks of class. My kids adore Mr. Daulhaus. We are practicing together at home. And though once school starts that will probably be it for my little ninjas until next summer, I hope to continue long tern and training with passion!
Nerissa Ramos: My son has been taking lessons at the academy for a little over 5 years. I love that he enjoys training with his peers while learning life-long skills and lessons. His Sensei, Mr. Dahlhaus, is absolutely the gold standard in teaching. He is fun, but firm, and has a way with students at every age level. Every one of the teachers are such a positive influence on the kids. The dojo is the perfect balance of fun, discipline, and character building while learning life saving skills.
AmyJane McAuley: My son started out at the little ninjas class at the multigen and we made the transition to the dojo. We are SO happy with that decision! My son has really grown and matured and a big part of that has been because of the dojo. Even during the quarantine, he was given the opportunity to train with an older student via zoom. This made a world of difference in his demeanor during a time when he couldn’t participate physically at the dojo. I found the attention to detail unparalleled when compared to other martial arts schools. Over the years, I consistently moved up the belt ranks until I became a certified instructor. This was what I was looking for and went beyond anything I knew could exist. Dan Hurd not only taught me how to kick ass, but I learned how to live with respect, honor, humility and great personal character.I learned how to respect my own mother through his teaching, the ability and skill of self awareness, social couth. Being a martial artist starts with learning how to articulate words so violence doesn't have to happen. But if it does, American Kenpo through Dan Hurd is the most devastating, over kill, rip a guys arms off and make him pee his pants type of training you'll ever experience.Self control, self discipline and respect for others with love are a few of many facets you'll acquire through the teaching of this school as a young child or grown man.HIGHLY recommend training with Mr. Dan Hurd. 5 star rating isn't high enough.The best news is you train at the level you want to which means you'll never get injured from improper training by the instructors.

Robert: The quality of a martial arts school isn't measured by its location , the number of "Bob" dummies it has, or the sheer quantity of black belts milled out per calendar year but by the knowledge, skill, and dedication of the instructors charged with educating the students. As both a life long student of the martial arts and a long time teacher myself, I can say without reservation that both owner Dan Hurd and primary instructor Jonathon Daulhaus are essentially as good as it gets. Instruction at the school is well structured, appropriately paced, aggressively challenging, and fundamentally useful in self defense situations. More importantly, students are encouraged and pushed to evolve but without any sense that a failure is anything worse than an experience from which to learn.More than anything, I appreciated the genuine family atmosphere that exists in the school. Students and instructors alike genuinely like each other, and more often than not, a victim of a well placed strike is more apt to high five and thank their fellow student for hitting them than complain. It seems counterintuitive to make combat seem almost friendly, yet that is the atmosphere here. Don't think for an moment that the students aren't serious or their ability diluted - they are very, very good. This school does not build "paper tigers."Don't take my word for it - read the other reviews here from families that have been involved with the academy for as many as 20 years. I've always judged the quality of things by the tenure of the people involved. In this case it is clear that something very good is going on here - why else would entire families be involved with Dan Hurd and his school for the better part of two decades?

Lisa Larsen [Rundle ES]: CD Young's Karate came to Rundle Elementary school and completed their Live Your Life program with our 5th graders.The program included a 45 minute learning session about ways to not be involved in different types of bullying and ways to use your voice instead of getting physical in different situations, a wristband, a brochure of information, and a challenge. When the challenge was met, the team came back and had a pizza party with our students to talk with them and learn about how they had been doing. The program was completely free and was helpful to our students.The team was easy to work with and schedule with. The team checked up on our students all throughout the year, and I could tell that they truly cared about them. We are already setting up dates to do the program again next year!I would recommend this program to all schools.

Russell Evans: I joined Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu Henderson a week ago. Everyone there is super nice and helpful to new students who are learning. The classes are tough, but the people throughout all belt levels are very encouraging and understanding of what it means to be new and have a bunch of stuff thrown at you. Professor Romulo is a very skilled black belt and an excellent teacher. He has a great lineage and many competition medals. He definitely knows what he’s doing.The facility itself is very nice and looks brand new. Professor Romulo keeps it very clean.Being a student at Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu makes me feel like I’m part of a family. There is a very positive atmosphere there and I highly recommend anyone who is interested in learning BJJ to come into a class and check it out for themselves.They have several Gi and No Gi classes as well as children’s and women’s classes throughout the week to fit any schedule.The first week is free, first month is $100, then after that I believe it’s $125 per month after that or they offer smaller packages of 5 and 10 classes.Come and join us!
