Take the Hoover Dam PostCard Tour that allows visitors to view Hoover Dam and the new bypass bridge from the river. This tour is a great addition to a tour of Hoover Dam and completes the experience from top to bottom.
Located a short distance from the Las Vegas Strip in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, the Black Canyon is one of the country’s most unique places to visit. Formed over millions of years by volcanic activity, the canyon lies just below the unforgettable Hoover Dam where the canyon walls rise nearly 2,000 feet from the river’s edge.
The Hoover Dam Raft Tour departs from the Lake Mead RV Village in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. From here, guests board a raft for a trip downstream through the spectacular Black Canyon with a beach stop for lunch before arriving at Willow Beach Marina on the northern reaches of Lake Mohave. Disembark at our full-service marina where you’ll have time for a bit of shopping and refreshment before boarding tour buses on the ride back to the Black Canyon River Adventures location for drop off or continuation on to Las Vegas (depending on tour).

Kathryn Sloop: This was a wonderful rafting excursion led by Eugene. He’s a great pilot, fun, funny, and full of information about the dam, river and wildlife. We had a great time. It’s a wonderful way to experience the water without much physical effort. And the raft provides cold wet towels to make sure you don’t overheat…a key reason we didn’t burn. If you go, wear a suit under sun clothes and bring a hat and sunscreen. Open toe shoes are fine. The water is cold but so refreshing. Definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get out and enjoy the outdoors but not kayak for 6 hours!

Lori Long: We visited Lake Mead and Hover Dam recently. Highly recommend this 3 ish hour rafting tour on the Colorado river below Hover Dam. You'll get up close and personal with the Hoover Dam from the Colorado river side, the human ingenuity , the scale of the engineering and sheer bravery of the men who built it. If you get a chance, walk across the top of the Dam from the Nevada side to the Arizona side and take the tour of the power plant inside the Dam.
