Emma Carlson: The school is awesome. I am attending it currently and I am enter eighth grade there. The food is decent the staff care about the kids but since it is a second chance school it means that they are strict and we end up with some pretty bad kids. I have experienced minor bullying and some sexual harassment but I must say that a lot of the girls at Burkholder are quite snotty and pretty much brats. We do get fights and we have awesome staff. I was once planning to kill myself but the teachers and I have formed a strong bond and the counselors know me by name. The Dean is awesome. So send your kids

C S: I had the pleasure of visiting this school a few years ago as a visiting teacher from Australia - The dedication of the staff and the high quality of teaching I observed brought me to the conclusion that this school and the standard of instruction is nothing short of excellent. The staff were very caring, and each of the activities I observed had the students fully engaged. Even after talking to the students, the random people that I spoke to took pride in their school and all said how much they loved it.I brought back home some wonderful classroom ideas from this school and look back at my time there with wonderful memories. From a visiting teachers point of view from Australia, I would highly recommend this school as being caring, engaging and the staff clearly strive for excellence and you can see they really enjoy their jobs which is also a reflection of a good school. A successful school must have happy teachers who enjoy coming to work each day, and this is what I observed. I would dearly love to come back to the school and pay another visit when I next visit the USA. The teaching staff I met were amazing and very welcoming.As a disclaimer, I have no commercial interest and nothing to gain from what I have written. LuLaRoe Jen Mitchell: It's my daughter's final year at Brown, and while there's some rough kids, in the main, she's had a wonderful experience. Her teachers have cared about her, and encouraged her to reach out and do better than she thought. She's been involved in choir and academics; had the opportunity to excel at Chinese. She's done her part, gone to school and done the work. She has really enjoyed Brown. Even the office staff has been really accommodating and friendly.
