Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee Ethiopia is also the only place that coffee grew natively. Kaldi was a goat herder who discovered coffee after witnessing the vigor that his goats received from eating the cherries. He later brought these cherries to the monastery and shared them with the monks who exclaimed that they were the Devil’s work and hurled them into the fire. The aroma of the beans roasting in the fire was heavenly and the beans were raked from the fire and crushed to put out the embers. Realizing their mistake, they placed them into a jug and covered with hot water for preservation. Later the monks drank the brew and it helped them keep awake during nightly devotions.

Sabrina Finklea-Strickland (rick rolled): Delicious food, we went for dinner here after realizing that all the good buffets in town were closed due to covid. The servers were decent and there wasn't too many people crowding the restaurant. We will definitely be coming back again. The little one on the right accidentally ate a jalapeño but even she enjoyed it.

They have a couple other vegan menu items, and I'm guessing that whatever you get there is going to be phenomenal. A L: We are visiting from Washington and this place is outstanding. Kitfo was amazing!!! Everything we had was delicious. The portions were big and we didn’t think we would finish everything but we did. The host was very nice and offered great hospitality! We will be back again before we leave to go back home.
bibidjan1: Big thumbs up to the owner of Cafe Luhena! OMG the best Ethiopian restaurant I have ever had. If you are meat lover you would definitely love this place. Different kinds of meat cooked in various way, you just name it! I took my daughter after school and we ordered cooked lamb chop with beef, it comes with sour cream and Ethiopian bread. It was delicious. The restaurant is compact, cozy, very clean with excellent customer service. The owner was very polite, attentive and generous. By the way, the owner is fluent in Russian too. Highly recommend it!

MD Ashadul Dhali: The restaurant is located in a corner plaza. Their service was awesome. Our server was very friendly and helpful as this was our first time here. The food has a home cooked flavor and their portions are huge. The price I feel is worth due to the amount of food you receive. Too bad we couldn’t enjoy the desserts as we are too full to take another bite. I recommend you stop by and give them a try when you’re in the neighborhood.

Samantha Denny: I called to order takeout and it was a very simple process. The order was ready when I arrived. I ordered one veggie combo that cost around $18. They gave me a lot of injera! The lentils, cabbage and collard greens were all great but I didn’t care much for the beets or green beans. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys Ethiopian food.
